I have an alembic pot still, and I can change it to reflux when I am doing the spirit run. Usally I get about 85 % vol on my spirit run ( and that is when I have a fear amount of water running trough my condenser ) and the ethanol is a little bit cold when it comes out. But last time I distilled I tried to have minimum water flow in the condenser and I got 92-93% vol out
a new rekord. But the ethanol was very hot when It came out ( almost boiling hot ) Do you guys have any experience with that? Can you tell me in what way I should run my condensing waterflow? Is it good that the ethanol comes out hot? Thank you!..
