Column upgrade question
I have a prebuilt 8gal pot with a 1.5" column from clawhammer and would like to upgrade the column for a bit more efficiency/surface area in my runs to at least 2", maybe 3" for as cheap as possible. I was thinking of using what I already have, just extend the column a bit by getting two, 1.5"-2" reducers and a 2" copper column 12" long give or take. One reducer for the dome, the other to connect back to the original column/condenser with the new addition in between. This seems cost effective and I believe it should help with the final product and run times. Am I missing anything? Would this hinder more than help in anyway? Would it be more productive just go 2" from the get go?
