Bryan1's 4" Copper Bubbler

Post by Bryan1 »

G'day Guy's,
Well time to get a pic or two of my stills and here is my 4" bubbler I made setup for doing flavoured spirits. I also have a 500mm 4" section which I pack SS scrubber for doing neutral.

This still uses perf plates which I soldered in place and for gaskets for the easy flanges I made my own using some 1.6mm gasket paper and rolls of pfte tape. The seal makes for a real nice seal and after taking the still apart for cleaning before I use the seal again a couple of turns with new tape renews the seal.

For the water I have a 5,000 gal rainwater tank beside the shed and I use a 12 volt Flojet pump which is wired up with a sub $10 ebay speed controller as I don't need 17 litre a minute flow. I have a 3/4" return pipe going back to the tank and I've never seen any temp rise while doing a run either.

Cheers Bryan
