Triple x sugar shine

Post by Durhommer »

So about 5 gallon of my first ujssm from 2018 has what looks like low wine protein shit floating low at the bottom of the bottles I'm really caught between just charcoal filtering or distillation for a third time I only have my 8 gallon pot still on hand I do need a base for some more lemon drop and apple pie should I filter or reduce to 2 gallon

Coffee filter it.

It is corn oil from the corn in your UJ that carried over to the product jars (tails). As it sets, it coalesced and formed the “cloud” you see. A coffee filter will help reduce, or eliminate it. But, it does contribute to the “grain flavor”, so often times it isn’t worth worrying about, especially when you age on wood.

Being OCD can be a detriment.
