Glad you were neg there Jonny, working from home isn't so bad.
Yeah the mega Vitamin C really messed up my guts, don't know if any of that helped but I did survive so maybe?

A friend's wife - 51 years old - died earlier this week after being on a ventilator for weeks.
Makes about 90 deaths ATTRIBUTED TO China virus in my county.

Also talking to a good friend. His 91 year old mom is in a facility in Chicago, which is scary enough.
She has dementia and early in the week she fell hit her head and has a brain bleed.

His sister lives up there but of course neither he nor she can get in to see about her.
And so it goes.

Thank you OVZ, the fishing was pretty good at least the crabbing and the deep sea parts.
The whale watching was amazing! The Humpbacks were feeding right near us, awesome to witness.

I just heard from my buddy, he's positive and so is his wife. He had sniffles for a few days, then one morning he was too weak to get out of bed to go to work. Went to get tested and he was positive. He lost 50% of his sense of smell and taste, but after 3 days isn't weak anymore and is feeling 75% normal. His wife got tested and is positive, but she has no symptoms. His bbq is now only half as good

My wife spent the other day helping my son clean his outbuilding. Turns out two workers where he works tested positive so he had to be tested. After a day together my wife and I found out about the risk. He went in to get tested yesterday and will find out the results today so yesterday my wife and I tried to stay away from each other. She stayed downstairs while I stayed upstairs. It’s the waiting and not knowing, not feeling we should leave the house and possibly expose others. This is the closest we have been to exposure.

I had it from my only drinking buddy, who had it from workplace. I was down with the Chinese virus for about a couple of weeks or so. I recovered last week. I had lost the sense of smell and 50% sense of taste. It has made me so weak. Now trying to start jogging again but it’ll be a while as I went twice with a gap of 4 days in between and could only manage small runs between mainly walks. Could only do 6 KM. The fact is different people have different symptoms and even people who were “cured” got other strain of Chinese virus from other source and had COVID again, it means the vaccine will be difficult to make.

I'm going in this afternoon for a full breathing test.
I am still taking two meds for breathing, so I guess I'll find out today more about whatever is going on.
Everyone seems to have at least a slightly different experience, but I can tell you this much I'm getting real tired of having a swab stuck up to near my brain. Every time I need to see a doctor they want me to be tested first.
Hang in there malt_lover and Bushman, we will all get past this eventually.

So...
Not wanting to to evoke a rage but maybe it's time.
It's not the Wuhan or the f-ing China virus it's covid 19 and it's real. Some of us have gotten it and many more will. Please people here acknowledge that this is a real issue that we as all humans have to deal with.

Please stay safe

OVZ, no disrespect to your views but through out history killer diseases of many sorts have been referred to by the first known origin, like Spanish flu or Asian flu’s in the 20th century. Then we got the Swine flu and the Bird flu. All the later are still circulating as ‘influenza A’ and still kill people by the thousands. Being PC doesn’t change the nature or the effect. ‘Nuf said before the who thing gets squashed by the mod. Let's talk whisky instead.

My son came back negative but to be sure has to go back for a second test on Monday. My wife and I are going to stay separated her downstairs and me upstairs until we get the second test which should be done by Tuesday. But the first test is very promising. My son has been very careful but is a manager at a high end hotel/restaurant and two of the employs tested positive so he is off work for 14 days.

If the fermenters and still are downstairs, I'd trade her places!

If your son and coworkers are masked at work, good chance he's negative. Cruise ship studies have shown that mask wearers are exposed to a lower viral load and if infected more likely to have an asymptomatic or mild illness. After one negative test, he's probably not infected.

All my still equipment is in my outbuilding or I would have traded places. Our gas stove is downstairs where my wife is doing all the canning.

Any updates yet Bushy? .
We have remote learning ( home schooling) here and my youngest son bumped into his Chinese language teacher down the local mall so asked him what they call COVID19 in Chinese, he said it was named after the city, they call it the Wuhan flu.

SCMP (South China Morning Post) called it Wuhan pneumonia a month or so back. Guess the boy’s teacher was right.

Spanish Flu originated in Kansas.

We aren't sure where Covid-19 originated. Possibly in Wuhan but cases were reported before that in Italy.
