Hi everyone.
Great forum and thanks for everything I have learned on here.
I have one of these stills:

The packed section of the column is 75cm (30") and packed with rolls of copper mesh. I run a 2000 watt 25L boiler with power controller.
In a spirit run from 17L of 35% low wines it is taking me over 12 hours to complete at around 1000watts. The condenser can knock everything down at 2000w when I'm stripping so I am looking at modifying it to get my reflux runs speeds down and use more power but maintain quality.
I know that I would get some minimal benefits from adding more packed 2" pipe but I am wondering what other options I may have.
Could I add in 4" to 2" reducers and a 4" glass bubble plate section? What would you do to increase the output on this still? I'm wishing I had gone 3" or something bigger from the get go but I am kind of stuck with this one for a while. May be able to sneak some mods through without the minister of war and finance throwing the toys out of the pram though.
Thanks.
