Welcome aboard Jixxer
Tell us a little more about your stills and what it is you wish to make in the spirit department.

Thanks for the reply friend.
My still is a home made sort of rig I conjured up. 3’ of 2” copper filled with 1/4” pieces of 1/4” copper. Used it 2 times about 12 years ago and lost interest in it because of turbo yeasts I was using tasted and smelled awful. Even after running thru activated carbon filter.
Fast forward to a month ago I decided to get it back out and try my hand at distilling again. But this time with a semi proper sugar wash.
Started my sugar wash and then set about cleaning everything back up.
Took a while to get everything cleaned. Finally got it though.
Waiting on sugar wash for 14 days now. Which brought me here to do a bunch of reading. I’ve come to the conclusion that the wash has ph crashed I think. I’m not at home right now ( enjoying the smokeys this weekend) imma check ph when I get home.
Wash was just sugar and tap water to 1.090 adjusted ph to 5.2 with lemon juice. Added 2 tablespoons of nutrients. Paddle stired with drill to add o2. Pitched 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of dady at 80f. It started off like a rocket but we got a cold snap and we didn’t have heat on in the house. Woke up to 62 lol.
I moved the wash to a room and heated it back up to 74 over a days time. Started working again but very slow in the lock. I checked it at 10 days was at 1.06. Checked it again at 14 days and was the same. Bubbles about every 20 seconds or so. So I don’t think I killed anything. I just never thought of checking my ph again.
I was reading on here about during fermentation that the ph level could drop to low and make it stall out.
Sorry so long winded but I really needed to get this off my mind. Might of should have left the still packed in the garage. Lol.
