Maybe it's mentioned in the owner's manual and I missed it.
I was planning to mill 50 lbs of milo (sorghum bi-color) yesterday with my AMA hammer mill (aka the Agristore mill) but the motor failed to start. Cursing like a sailor, because I have half a sack in the hopper, I had to empty and trouble-shoot. Confirmed power at the outlet.
Who knew there is a kill-switch beneath the removable post that holds down the sieve plate ?
Because I disassemble and clean the mill after each use I normally only finger-tighten the sieve plate. Apparently that didn't engage enough threads to force the bolt to engage the kill-switch. Now I know ... either use a wrench or finger-tighten until it hurts.

Great company! My motor died shortly after purchase and they sent a replacement quickly after some quick remote troubleshooting. Highly recommended.

Really like this mill. I have a couple thousand pounds through mine now and no problems at all. Certainly worth the money and beats a hand grinder all day long.
