Hi guys,
Long story short, I’m upgrading my equipment to a modular, 3” bubble plate column with 4 plates. It just arrived today and I noticed the seal material that holds the copper plates is silicone.
I bought it in the distillex store in Ali Express. I gotta say, this is some pretty nice stuff. Here’s a pic of one of the sections from the website:

I was planning on replacing all the silicone TC gaskets with ptfe, but I can’t do it with the sections that actually hold the plates as they need to be flexible to conform around the plate. I’ve heard platinum cured silicone is pretty safe for our hobby, but I have no idea if thats the silicone used on these parts. Any insight on this? I’ve done about 3 hours of searching for my particular concern with no satisfactory results.
Distillex 3” bubble plate silicone safe?
