First sacrificial run with new still set up, new to hobby

Post by Evil juggler »

I've built a ccvm style still with a 38 litre keg and a large shot gun condenser. I've powered up a couple of times with no leaks or mishaps and the PID is working well on running with vinegar cleaning.

I'm looking to do a wash this week using birdwatchers recipe 50 l batch. Obviously the first run with the still is sacrificial. But as I'm going to be doing the first run in two batches is the second batch classed as a non sacrificial??

Or am I best just to use the whole process as a practice run and run a spirit run?

Very excited to get to this stage as it's taken me 5 months to build 😂
