Hello from NZ

Post by senornz »

Like a lot of people I used the lockdown time to finally have a go at making my own sourdough. That has been great (especially the bagels) and so I'm keen to move on to the next thing on the "sometime" list: distilling.

My friend has a robobrew and so we purchased the AlcoEngine Reflux head to go on that. We did a test run using 3L of the cheapest wine in the supermarket and found that the little brewing water pump was not strong enough. I now have a 400W submersible pump which is a lot more powerful.

Currently waiting on 21L of StillSpirits Pure mix to finish fermenting and then we'll try a real run.

This forum has been great resource so far, and I'm sure I'll be back here often enough to warrant setting up this account. Big thanks to everyone here for contributing.
