Newb checking in

Post by SnowJeeper »

Hello friends,

I'm a long-time brewer and wine maker from the Great Lakes region checking in. I don't have a still (yet) but I'm enjoying the reading and learning here. Thanks to all the wise and experienced folks who are willing to share their nuggets of information with the rest of us. :D

Welcome, when I first started I did the same thing; collecting information unti I felt confident to build and run my own still. You can only go so far before you need to pull the plug and jump in. Good Luck and be safe!

Thanks!

There are plenty of options and lots of decisions to be made, that's for sure. Fortunately I have a good level of experience with the mash and fermentation portion of the process. I have a nice electric HERMS system that will work great for that part. I'm learning all the additional terms, processes, and 'tricks' for the distillation phase.

My lovely wife thinks I don't need another hobby. Pshhh!

You understand this will take funds from your Jeep fund, right? LOL.
Welcome to the rabbit hole.

No matter what hobby I choose, there is never enough funding. :(
