I am trying to find better ways to cool my condenser than with a large 76 liter / 80 quart cooler. A cooler of cold tap water and a fridge ice maker's amount of ice did not seem to hold up well for a vinegar run. I am running a 30 liter / 8 gallon still. I never actually got to the point of seeing vapors, but the water was definitely getting warm. I want to play everything very safe especially since I am distilling indoors and my source of ventilation will be an open sliding glass door and open window a little more than 1 meter / 4ft away.
I have heard that there are faucet adapters and washing machine adapters. Can someone explain those or post a link to one? I am trying to find a way to get a reliably cold supply of water without having to constantly feed new ice, remove warm water, etc.
My best idea so far, although it would be a project is to install some kind of a Y valve under my kitchen sink's cold water supply line. I could then use the valve to direct water away from the sink faucet and down a line to my condenser. It would just require plumbing as well as a collection of supplies / adapters that I would like to avoid if there is a more simplistic way. Any advice?
Happy holidays
How do you hook up a washing machine or faucet to a condenser?
