Army Vet near Raleigh

Post by oksofar »

Hello, all
I've been browsing here, and have found a wealth of info. So much, that I may not post for a while - I believe that searching first is best, as I'm sure my questions will not be the first time someone has asked them.

I am putting together an order for Mile Hi for their 16 gallon stainless 4" flute. I am interested in making gin and bourbon. I have not decided on mashing equipment yet.

So, Happy New Year to all! (Jan 1, 2021), and I am glad to be here!

Max

Welcome to HD. Thank you for your service. Take your time and research before you buy. Gin and Bourbon are polar opposite. Let the good times roll.

Hello and welcome. That's some interesting choices in your preferred drinks, but you ain't the first. There's plenty of folks that make/drink bourbon and gin both. The good info to help you is here. The fun is finding it. Enjoy.

Update:
Well, I’m having fun with my AirStill. This model (an Amazon find) has the adjustable temperature control. I’ve run a couple of sugar washes, distilled twice, and filtered through a Britta. The result is a spirit clean enough to replace the wife’s Titos (cutting it from 77% to 40%).
