Solutions for a Guinness keg?

So I've seen a couple of people having issues with the size of the coupler on a Guinness keg. Basically renders all tri clamps useless. Was wondering if anyone has come up with any neat little solutions to this, since so far all I've been able to find involves grinding down the circumference or attaching specially made parts to create an adapter. I unfortunately am not the handiest lad in the world and so I'm working with some real basic tools. Any help would be hugely appreciated.
