Beginner from the Midwest

Post by Bear-4221 »

Hi Everyone, I'm here to learn distillation. Tired of the basic flavors of name brands. Would like to perfect a more robust rum with smother kick.

I think you will find what you're looking for here.
What is your favorite commercial brand?
Good number of rum fans here.

Hello and welcome to HD. Plenty of good info about rum here. You've found the right place.

Simple Lil' Pot Still, no temp guage, no carbon, no scrubbers, nuthin' fancy. Sometimes use a thumper, sometimes don't.

Welcome. Living in the Midwest you'll have some great access to some grains and white oak. Take advantage of that as you learn how.
