Rubberized Keg use

Post by dunluce »

I have seen limited information on this here, and most has just been conjecture as opposed to actually verified use.

Has anyone put rubberized kegs to use? I was pleased to be able to pick up a couple of 30L Erdinger rubberized beer kegs, planning to use one as a thumper in a pot still/ steamer build design. Why rubberized? Well, half kegs are extremely hard to come by up here when you are not in one of Canada's major cities.

Has anyone ever used these, and can comment on if there will be a problem with the rubberized coating? Will it help to insulate the thumper?
It would definitely not be used as any kind of boiler.

Kind of a necrotopic, but like I said, there's very little information on here. Thanks in advance for any advice or info you can provide. :)
