Hello everybody. I'm Mick.

Since I was in my late teens, I've always wanted to try my hand at distilling. I honestly couldn't explain why but it's just something that's never left my thoughts. Well I'm now 53 and due to a life changing experience I needed to find a new hobby other than cycling. As I'm sat here now typing this, I've got one eye watching my first run come off. Won't be to everyone's liking but It's only a sugar and yeast wash and an air still but it's a start.

I'm not going to delude myself into thinking I'm going to take this any further than just a hobby, mainly because I just don't have the space or time to do so as I have to fit this in with my full time job. Ideally, I'd like to be able to invite family and friends around to sample the fruits of my labours without watching them wince, their eyes water and then needing medical help.

Outside of this, my other interests are watching football and cricket. I used to be a keen cyclist but have had to give that up, hence me finally getting round to being here.

I discovered this forum by chance after putting distilling related questions into Google, and more often than not, being led to this place so here I am.
