Input on flute build

I have been working on a 4 inch build following Dans build and with his help (Thanks Dan) , The only real concern I have is the plate gap to the column wall . I know the more its sealed the better, I get it but how much is to much gap in your opinion ?

I did cut the plates and spin them up in drill ect.. its just the pipe is not 110 percent true .. maybe im looking for it to fit to close ..
Since this is my first and with the price of materials these days I would like to make few as mistakes as possible ..

The sieve plates on the removable tree is the design, I could solder them in and take the issue away but that isnt really what I want to do .. But its not off the table yet ..

Any input from you more experienced flute guys ?
