cold, snow and no place to cook...
Good day to all... up in the PNW we've had a recent cold snap of weather. No chance of setting up the Blue Tarp and distill a batch without freezing your parts off! I'm using propane, so no inside spaces for me. Anyone else having weather issues that are preventing them from doing what we do... have a great day!

For me this is the weather to distill. Not as many other things to take care of since it is cold. So i ferment things and then either bottle or distill depending on the product. And the condenser cooling water stays cooler. But I am using electric and have a shop with a stove I can fire up.

My ferments happen in the house, so no real problems with the cold. And distilling is a little easier when nature is doing it's best to cool your cooling water for you...
...although sitting on your butt in a cold shed is not necessarily highly appealing.

Summer here. Great for fermenting, but too hot in my shed for distilling.

You guys keep the cold. We finally have sweatshirt weather in WI. Another couple degrees and we're in Tshirts.
I love being in the garage running on electricity in the winter. Way too hot in the summer so I usually don't run.

Gin, batch and feints clean up, small experimental ferments indoors for me until it warms up a bit. Working outdoors all day and then sitting outdoors at night for a spirit run is.....too much... I would have to eat an extra stick of butter!
Too bad distilling time is not during the day, it's really nice in that warm colorado sunshine.
