Been wondering this for a while
My 30 L boiler has a 2" bulkhead adaptor, then immediately goes from 2" to 3" via an adaptor. A 700mm packed column then sits on that, followed by another 3" to 2" adaptor, before going to the 2" shotgun.

Now, both of those adaptors (thermowells) are not 100% - the 2" ferrel is not welded on perfectly
as a result, the column does not sit perfectly vertical.
Is that a problem?
From what i can see, there doesn't seem to be, but what does the forum think?
Does it matter if column not 100% vertical?
