All the ridges are for structural integrity do to light gauge copper. It keeps manufacturing cost down and profit margin up. I'm a capitalist not a profiteer

Mind you , it's a nice piece of gear .
Personally , I’d prefer to feel the heat as it moves up through the still , but I guess all those thermometers keep all those greasy finger marks off the Copper .

They easily could have put outlet piping from the thump higher so the product condenser could be put on a stand so the outlet wasn't on the floor.

How big is a sack?
When wheat was packed off the harvester (combine to you Americans? We called a seeding machine a combine...)
it was sewn into three bushel jute "bags", about 180 pounds.
About sixty-five years ago that was, after the time of the horses...

In the cruel old days in England I believe a sack was maybe two of them!
An incredible amount anyway.
It took two men to load one onto another man's back.

Then there's whiskey still company, bigbobs got one... they are not made in Texas or anywhere else in the United states. Their supplier is al-ambique the Portugal company. Good stills just falsely advertised. Small worm diameter though.

Despite the limitations of a worm condenser, I love the alembic stills because of the man-hours invested in crafting them and the fact that they are made of copper.

Like it or not, the landscape of stills sold in America has increasingly changed in that US retailers now sell predominantly stainless steel (hobby) stills and parts sourced from China. Sadly, there is a diminishing amount of copper and American hand-built stills available for sale on domestic distilling websites these days. This Chinese company has begun marketing (via price) to American consumers directly, bypassing any involvement or economic benefit to our brothers stateside. (It is was recently estimated that 50% of all household items in America were produced in China). It would will be disheartening to see our hobby eventually devolve into sourcing all stills directly from China but it appears to be a direct possibility.

Perhaps that is why a 100% copper still looks so attractive?

No more sad than our trucks being made in Mexico, or our computers made in China. It's just a characteristic of living in a ever shrinking world. I for one am glad to be able to source affordable distillery equipment easily. I mean... 100 years ago when moonshine was a way of life and livelihood they boiled hooch out of anything they could get their hands on. That was the result of not having readily accessible equipment. I am 100% sure that many of the backwoods stills built before this economy allowed for such diverse offerings, would not of met the quality and safety standards of this message board.

The only thing that would make me sad is if equipment couldn't be had at all.
