Chilli and Kaffir Lime

Post by Zumaray »

Just wondering if anyone has experimented with using either Kaffir Lime leaves or Chilli in their Gin recipes? If so, how much would you suggest adding per litre of 40% abv neutral spirit? Would you also go heavy or lighter with the quantity of Juniper Berries? I’m thinking of around 25 grams.

Yes I do. I try to use as much out of my garden or friend’s gardens when making my gin.

That’s nice! We have one as well, it seems to be a very prolific plant. I’ve seen a kaffir lime vodka from hanger one in the past hadn’t really thought of a gin but why not.

Add it to the finished product. Get some small bottles and try different amounts in each. Can't go wrong...
