Had my first keeper run on my alembic pot still. Used birdwatchers sugar wash recipe with distillers yeast instead of bread yeast. I didn't have my hydrometer when I started, it was broken a while back, so I didn't have the starting gravity and decided to pull it after a week and a half fermenting.
Had a hell of a time trying to strain the yeast and tomato paste out but managed with cheese cloth and several hours of patience I never knew I had. Ended up with a quart of decent shine, 80 proof once blended.
I've got my new hydrometer in now and I'm researching a beginners bourbon recipe. I need to work on my patience. Lol
