Should do the job , will it have a base attached to make it free standing ?

Fill it with water, drop the hydrometer in and measure how much liquid it holds to better understand your “smear volume”. I bet it’s more than 250ml.

You should put a small ball of stainless mesh in the bottom of of the main tube so when you drop the hydrometer in it does not break.

Looks like around 180ml of smearing can happen
