Hello from Brisbane Australia

Post by Jeronemey »

Hi there,
I just joined up to the forum today after hearing it mentioned in a youtube video on a channel called "Still it".
I have been brewing beer for several years now but have no experience with stills.
I am doing 10L batches of all grain brews at current, mostly stouts or IPAs. Into 10L mini kegs. BIAB on stovetop pots.
I really enjoy brewing beer and tend to brew faster then I can drink it all.
A friend of mine is hooked on the moonshiners show but he won't buy his own still , I think he is trying to push me into it so he can distill at my place and not upset his Mrs. It worked.
So I am looking at using my 10L brewing equipment to do 10L distilling runs.
So far my ultimate setup would be a small keg to CCVM, but I am still researching.
Ideally I would love to be able to make a palinka, which is a Hungarian fruit brandy.

look up Slivovitz, Raika or Plum Brandy on this website, you will get the idea pretty quickly.

Oh, and don't buy your fruit, it isn't economical. You need free fruit or pay less than $1 per kilo else you are better off buying the made stuff, except your stuff will taste better, I suppose there is a price for that.
Taking a break while I get a new still completed....
