Baby gin basket?
I was looking at a cheap cocktail shaker a minute ago, and had an inspiration.
I wonder if any part of that would be useful in a still? Turns out that the top is the same size as a 1.5” ferrule.
Since the shaker has an integrated strainer, that might make a nice little 1.5” gin basket. I also wonder if it would be useful as an adapter from 1.5” up to 3” or so, but I don’t have any larger ferrules handy to compare with, and I haven’t bothered doing any research yet.Learn from the past, live in the present, change the future.

Cool idea. Would it be safe?
Jacketed boiler. 3” column, dephlegmator and a bunch of shipmates.

Assuming the welding and seals were safe, it could work nicely.
You’d probably need a vacuum breaker, or be pretty careful to make sure it couldn’t block up though. I’ve seen at least one post from a guy who had their pot implode due to a makeshift gin basket that blocked up after shutdown.
