Anybody ever built a still using a stem from the bottom that pumped heated beer up through the pot, venting directly into the still head? Think, take away the coffee holding basket , and vent the stem to just below the still head mounting…
Would that push the spirit out faster?

Re: Comments please,
It will not push the spirit faster. Spirit is going to come out based on the power input and the heat loss of the system. It's steam, not liquid; so you have to put enough energy in to complete the phase change. If you wanted to increase output you could recapture some of the heat (preheater as a condenser in a continuous etc.) or increase energy input.
:)

As hot beer would come out of the top, still fluid, it will drop down again into the boiler.
It might help to get rid of nasties, just like letting the beer or wine steam for some time at about 50 tot 60 dgr C.
