CCVM packing?

CCVM packing?
I'm rolling up some copper mesh to finish my CCVM. Since this already came in relatively clean do I need to run this through the vinegar run and the sacrificial run or is just a sacrificial run OK?

Ive heard it said that it can have oil from the manufacturing process on it, some people boil it I think, or you could put it in the still while doing the cleaning run.
Re: CCVM packing?
My fine copper mesh came on big rolls from an industrial supplier and 100% had some kind of oil on it, probably just to keep it from oxidising on the shelf?
I packed the column, ran boiling water, then vinegar, then sac run.
The water came out filthy, oily and cloudy green, the vinegar much less so and clean by the end, and the sac run looked and smelled clean so I was happy that I'd cleaned it to my best ability.
