I just made my first run of Corn/Sugar wash using Air Still. Beginning proof after foreshots was 120, judged by taste and burn on tongue. At tails proof of 56 I stopped collecting distillate due to taste and proof. Does this sound like a good practice? Should I run to a lower or higher proof? I considered going down to proof of 40 but did not trust my judgement.
Apologies for not being able to find info about this on the board. I am a newbie after all. I'm considering purchasing a larger copper still from Stillz.com.
Thanks in advance for any input.
Respectfully,
dan
