I’ve done runs with a number of experienced shiners. Each of them has a different process and no shortage of opinions as to the merits, or lack thereof, of what other shiners are doing. Each is doing the process they were taught. Each can explain what they do, without being able to explain why, other than to say “what they do works”. Each prefers their own shine, and only have a limited amount to share. So - I’m here to add to my education with special interest in making my own with the hope of having my favorite mentor say- “ I done good”
