Grain bill
Just curious about creating a grain bill. A lot of recipes I see are for 5 or 10 gal stills. But I neednto create for a 20 gal. It is as simple as doubling grain? I have been looking at different topics and maybe I'm not wording my searches correctly. Is there a good place to read up on how to create a mash bill.

Re: Grain bill
Just from what I've read on HD. 1.5 pound of grain to 1 gal of water. Or as much as 2 pounds of grain per gallon of water is what I see most members are doing. That's just what I've read. Others with more experience will hopefully be along with better feedback. Cheer's

viewtopic.php?t=77277 here is just one that came up in a search. Wish I had more to contribute. But is all here. You just have to dig it up. Good luck, I hope you have a successful ferment and a great drink. Cheer's

Re: Grain bill
Hi Berserker,
It’s as easy as scaling it up in proportion. If the 10G recipe you like has 15# of grain you would use 30# grain for the 20G recipe. Same with yeast, enzymes etc.
Have fun & stay safe.

Re: Grain billi
+1Most use about 2lb per gallonish. Don't shoot for too high a gravity. 1.06ish is fine.
A beer making background is helpful for recipes. If not experimenting is your best bet(like me). IMO find something you like and make it at home. Easy peasy.
If using rye maybe backoff the ratio till you get the hang of it

Re: Grain bill
I just break the recipe down to percentages for each grain. Then you can make any recipe fit your fermenter.
