Rum Rookie

Post by Kilo8 »

Thanks for the add. So new to this that the first wash is still bubbling. Must be part pirate because I'm solely interested in rums. I have so many questions but I'll save them until I've had a chance to comb through the forum. Hope to learn a lot here and find answers to a lot of the questions bouncing around in my head right now. Parrots, dunder, feints, retorts, clearing, reflux, headspace, goat heads... lol. It's coming together... I think.

Although this might not be the ideal place in the welcome thread but I do have a time sensitive question if someone can field it. My fermenting wash is hitting some subpar temps at night with the weather (as low as 62 at night and 73 in the day. I know its not the ideal range but unavoidable. Would this just extend the time needed to ferment or will it have a negative effect on the wash? I also left practically no headspace in the bucket but seems to be bubbling well mso hopefully didnt mess that up either :wtf:
