hello i'm Ray, I'm brand new to HD and this is my first post, from the introductions that I have read, I can tell that you guys don't sugar coat too much. Hopefully I am not stepping over any guidelines by posting this.
I am super new to distilling, but I read allot and engaged in brewing and wine making for years before I got to this new stage in my journey. I'm very much a novice and I am glad that I stumbled up on your site. Every since the craft distillery act of 2015-2017 my dream is to open my own craft distillery in the Orange County area. If I can get funding i would like to do it in the next 2yrs. It would be great to connect with a few HD folks in my area who i could (a) learn from, and (b) if possible get help/support/advise for my distillery ideas. There's allot that I don't know, i plan to experiment for a while, but when the time is right, God willing I want to try to put something bigger together. I might be crazy for wanting to do it in this area, but hopefully i can learn where others have failed.

Welcome aboard Cupo, you not the first and wont be the last to turn up on a distilling forum with a dream.
Ive seen a fair few of them in the past 10-12 years...some have done crazy things like giving up perfectly good careers , and even selling the family home to pursue that dream.
A few have succeeded and are doing very well to this day.........others have never seemed to get far with the dream.
I can only wish you luck.
One old saying springs to mind " Nothing ventured, Nothing gained"

Welcome aboard.
I'd venture a lot of us have similar dreams. I'd recommend going ADI forums as well, it more dedicated to pros. Let me tell you... it's huge undertaking.
