Green

Post by Alzahra888 »

Green, green but a lean reading machine. This place doesn’t need my praise but I want to express my awe in reading about a hobby I never wanted anything to do with. I like dabbling — if that means reading more than doing. I like walking my bicycle. I love gardening and will find it practical to be able to convert my fruit into liquid. I honestly don’t know what I was thinking the day I found this page. I recoiled at first but returned before long. Light reading turned into poring over these pages for days, weeks and now it’s been months: learning about objects that have their own logic. This has become my go to space for joy. The common denominator here for newbies has been appreciation. I too am glad to sit at the feet of those who have gone before.

Thanks Olympic! Oh I’m making my way around with concrete plans. If each week I have a different go to design in mind then this week’s is a CCVM/keg build, and I’m sourcing the materials  Also I'm liking the reads about other design systems, i.e. at the moment LM/VM.

Last time I started smoking I bought a pouch of tobacco and left in the drawer for six months, then for another six I just rolled them up.

Thinking about lighting these plans up is at least half the fun.

[post has been moved to appropriate forum, please disregard or moderator please delete] I am reading and can’t understand two things from OtisT’s specifications for a dimroth coil, he writes:

Otis' dimroth product condenser
Vapor Input is a 3/4" copper union
Vapor chamber is a 2" diameter pipe
The Cu condenser coil is made from 1/4" Cu tubing (-11')
Coil ID=1", OD=1.5". 26 winds (1/8" gap) over 10", with a center return
1/4" needle valve

So I am having trouble understanding what the 3/4” copper union is, does and where it’s located.

And the 1/4” needle valve. Is that the small valve shown on the input in this photo?

Plus a Total bozo question: does this ferrule /triclamp combo make a flange unnecessary?

In general, questions should be asked in the appropriate sections of the forum with the welcome thread just used for saying hi.

So hi.

P.S. The union connects the dimroth to the Lyne arm and the little block is indeed the needle valve.

Yes I wanted to follow up my other post on this build but inadvertently posted in the wrong forum. I don’t know how to move it. My apologies!
