If it plugs in, post it here.

Does the input and output from the SSVR matter between 1 and 2?
It don't matter because the polarity of ac power changes 120 times a second
I prefer and all the wiring diagrams show 1 for input 2 for output.

I've read conflicting posts about grounding the Pot. Does it need to be grounded?
Yes, if anything metalic is exposed and touchable
I use a plastic knob.

The side of my SSVR says grounding of the radiator is not recommended, but I see most here are? Ground it or not?
I'd use a different SSVR

Reversing the wires from the pot at the SSVR will change the direction needed to raise and lower resistance if I have then crossed?
The knob will work backwards

Think of it this way, if there's no connection between 3 and 4 - power is off.
If 3 and 4 are jumped - power is wide open.
Then do like me, ohm out the pot while turning the shaft, check for any bad spots, check for any shorts between the terminals and ground.
Lastly, make a mistake and have to swap one of wires
