Hello from a little island off the west coast of Canada

Hi Everyone

I think that I have always been interested in distilling but didn't have much of a clue until I found this site. Family lore had it that my grandfather "made his own" and given that he worked in a sugar beet factory, I would think the chance is pretty good he did. I am hoping to distill a little bit of everything and am looking forward to the advice from such a diverse and knowledgeable group.

I have been reading, reading, reading for the last year as I accumulated the parts to build my first still. I have managed to find about 7 feet of 3", 4 feet of 2", a couple of half barrel kegs & a quarter barrel keg. I have ordered all of the fittings parts that I should need from Oak Stills and plan to build a CCVM or maybe and VM still. I will have to reach out to Twisted and see about ordering some wind chimes for my shotgun.

I hope to post a few pictures along the way for input as the build threads are my favourite.
