Why am I making neutral when I drink rum

Hi everyone, new to the forum and the hobby of distilling, been brewing for as long as I can remember I was recently given an air still and have done a couple of runs with sugar wash to make neutral spirt which I plan on flavouring with fruit but been busily reading away on here as I’m a rum drinker so thought I would give that a go. My all molasses wash is now bubbling away nicely.
