Hi,
Recently I have purchased this immersion heater from brewpi, it is an all stainless tri clamp heater, the element material is SS316 Stainless Steel and the flange material is SS304 Stainless Steel, so up until here all is good, and they are mainly selling these heaters for home brewers, normally I used a camco incoloy heater but unfortunately it fried so I purchased this one instead, the only thing that I am wondering with these heaters is where the heating rods attach with the flange, as far as I know they use some sort of sealant that I do not know the name but then, will this be suitable for distilling when it gets contact with a %25 ABV alcohol for a spirit run lets say, what do you know about this, is this the same thing with camco heaters they also have tube connected to a flange also, what do you think ?
Here are the pictures
