New to Home Distiller

Hello all,

I am new to this forum and am trying to gather a little insight into the craft of distilling.
Since teaching engineering courses, I have been wanting to explore the heat transfer processes that I teach the students and use some of that knowledge along with the little chemistry background I have to explore the distilling process.
At times I might ask very basic questions so all I ask for is your patience.
