Yeah that's an interesting thought Justin.

Yup, it's all in the taste. But distillers are particular about an awful lot of things. We fiddle and fuss over (to name just a few) grain bill percentages, yeast types, mash and ferment control, slow or fast distillations, amount of tails to cut, and then.... aging regimens followed by how strong a drink to pour from a particular-shaped bottle with a custom-made (wink-wink Salty) distillery label.
Just sayin'.

Durability first, cost second and appearance last.
Personal, I like flat sided flasks because they fit in my hip pocket.
Smaller that a pint and I have to spent too much time refilling them.
Bigger than a liter and I have to wear a belt and suspenders to keep my britches up.

Offside Shady! You only have three choices.
Now if we could have a Kickstarter or new post for a proper metal flask..proper quality not some dubious pewter.... of a servicable size... to share if required.. with a seal not made of old inner tubes.. I am in!
If need be we could find you one with a belt and you could wear it as a sporran.

I had to look up what a sporran was.
Looks like it would be difficult for a man wearing a skirt to run.
Especially with his purse flapping around and slapping him in the balls.
I'd chose the bottle on the right.

I have accumulated several metal flasks, from a key ring 1oz to an 8oz hip flask. It never occurred to me to check the seals.quadra wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 9:02 pm Offside Shady! You only have three choices.

I often carry one in my cargo shorts when cycling, but I can't see myself riding a pushbike wearing a kilt and sporran any time soon

We had a Scots member recently join, I'm hoping he'll step in to this thread shortly for a bit of a light hearted bashing!

I don’t think I’d say that within earshot of a Scot. Earshot being highly variable depending on the size of the bagpipes, I suppose.
