Adding a "cold finger" to a liebig?

I have a 4 ft 2" over 1.5" liebig condenser. The knock down power does not impress me. It really doesn't seem much better than my 4 ft 3/4" over 1/2" . Adding some copper scrubbies def seemed to help a bit. I was wondering about shooting a 1/2" or maybe even a 3/8" copper tube through the middle of it to run cooling water though, I think this will really help it condense some vapors. What say you oh master distillers.
