First Ffv ferment
Just started off my first FFV ferment thanks teddy for the recipe, I got a little lazy with my measurements and wound up dumping an entire 5kg bag of sugar in as opposed to 4kg for a OG of 1080 so we shall see how it goes but I wouldn't expect it to be too much of an issue overall.

Good luck , but don’t expect it to be a fast ferment . That last kg of sugar takes a while , you just added another .
Part of why this recipe makes a clean vodka is because it only has 4kg ( same as Shadys suger shine ) . That extra kg of sugar will make extra stress on yeast and they will create byproducts that aren’t desired .
If you are just going to put it through a good reflux still , probably will turn out just fine . If you were going to pot still it , you could split it into two fermenters and add the required water to lower the sg

My recommended goto .

My still so far seems to be stripping pretty clean, but yeah that was my expectation, having come from a brewing background I got what I expected, it took a week to stabilize at 990
