Hi from Oz
Hi all just signed up to the forum, hoping to buy or build a still in the not too distant future and trying to learn as much as I can about the hobby. Did some distilling with basic gear 20 years ago with a mate, haven't done any since and thought it would be fun to get back into it. Like homebrewing, I see that things have moved along a lot in that time. Anyway, hoping not to be too overwhelmed by it all, and to start having fun not too far away. Thought I'd say hi and thanks for having me

Welcome to the forum. There's lots of great information here. And plenty of threads and people to help you choose the right still for what you are wanting to make. I may look overwhelming at first, but take your time, do your reading, and you'll be making your own quality spirits in no time at all.

Welcome to HD! I think it's a little overwhelming for everyone when they first start, I know it was for me, but once you read for a while it'll start to click. Once you're in here for a while, the amazing part become the amount of information at your fingertips from a 20+ year knowledge base.
I'm a build not buy proponent, but I love the building aspect of it. There's a lot of great builds and ideas on here and the satisfaction of creating your own equipment is just not the same as buying it. The members will jump in and help with design ideas if you document it here and start to stray away into danger land.
Dive in and enjoy the site.
