New to the group

Post by Rum Runners »

It all started many moons ago. My Dad loved making fruit wines. At some point he had a batch that didn't turn out. My brother in law acquired a small rudimentary still and Dad had to try it out.

Then we started buying swish barrels and distilling that down. The next still was a converted surge milking machine.

That was about the time Dad found his first rum recipe and we haven't turned back. We've made big and small improvements with almost every batch and continue to do so.

Dad passed away back in 2022 and I just finished running my first solo batch. As I mentioned the improvements, this was the first time using a thumper and I am very impressed with the added flavour. It is now still in charcoal to mellow and age.

I am hoping to experiment with some smaller batches with different flavours in the near future.

Cheers
