Hey everyone im B and I’m excited to be a part of this community! I’m new to home distilling, but I’ve always had an interest in learning how to craft my own spirits. I’m looking forward to connecting with others, sharing experiences, and picking up some tips along the way. I’m eager to learn more about the process and get started on my own distilling journey!
Looking forward to chatting with you all and learning from the experts here!
I have a simple beginner Vevor 5 gallon still. I have been starting out with simple sugar mashes. Been doing 5 gallons water, 5lb cracked corn ,8-10lbs sugar, and 1/2oz red star Dady. I usually have a staring OG at 1080-1090 and haven’t had issues with crashes yet. Takes about 10days though. I am going to implement a yeast nutrient and a ph stabilizer (oyster shell or CC) to see if I can help fermentation time.
