I recently retired and am now living off grid for the non-snowy months. I bought a 16gal kettle with a 3"column in a gin configuration year before last to give me a hobby that might save me some money. That part hasn't happened yet.
I had a decent run last year with a corn sugar wash but lately I'm not getting the ABV numbers in the ferment with a grain mash, sugar wash, nor an apple 'must' (did I get that right?). Keeping it warm is sometimes an issue but I also wonder about the recent dextrose I bought.
I'm seeing a lot of old friends being friendlier and hope to make new ones here!
