So Its going good I forgot to check the SG before adding sugar but before fermentation started SG was at 1.94 and after adding sugar it was at 1.74 today its at 1.53 doesn't have a old dishrag smell to it it actually smells pretty good like it did the first day. Does it only smell like old dish rags when using dunder and trub?

Update**
Glad to say everything worked out good I did one of my stripping runs today I still have one more stripping run to do of the left over wash and then mix them together and do my spirits run! So far it's coming out good! I'm going to put some backset to the side in a bucket and some in a jar. But not sure if I'm going to do a second generation right away or if I'm going to let the backset in the bucket sit for a while. Thanks BB And to everyone that helped out with answering my questions!!

I always keep a spare pale of Dunder just incase .
Those white 10 and 20litre ones with the press on lids will keep Dunder for over a year no worries . It may develop a very small mould on top but nothing like when there is no lid .
