Hello from the far north

Hi everyone! I have been distilling for 5 years now. Me and my partner started when we were just teenagers (legal drinking age where I’m from) mainly for the novelty. We started with some copper pipe, a mason jar, and a turkey fryer in the woods. We both became very interested in the science and the art of making spirits, particularly gin. Today we have a 4” column, with all operations including fermentation done completely off the grid even in temperatures as low as -35c. This is accomplished with solar, propane, and a lot of insulation! Of course we do this strictly for our own quest to create an exceptional Gin from the resources around us. I have followed this site closely for information, and now I have questions of my own that I don’t believe have been posted here yet. Thanks for having me!
