Re-using tails in thumper or adding to boiler

I know alot of people here dont care for thumpers. Thats understandable, and I expect to get responses of why I use one, what I think one does and so forth. Ive tried to research it but have no clear answer.

So like the title says. Is it more beneficial to add tails back into the boiler with my wash or in my thumper? Seems that either or would just about accomplish the same thing except the tails in the boiler would be added to the wash of course. Just curious for those of you who re-use tails instead of saving them for a feints run choose to do and which one you find more beneficial.
